Post 22:
The recent news that there was a pregnancy pact in a small-town high school in Gloucester clearly shows a decline in the American way. We now have unwed mothers who are happy and planning on having these kids together. Of course, the normal people jumped in and blamed the normal things. From Parents blaming movies like Juno and Knocked Up to planned parenthood saying that it is the lack of birth control. Really, I have three things to say about this situation: It is not the culture of the media that causes this - It is not the lack of birth control that causes this - Parents, look at your title.
It is not the culture of the media that causes this:
Often when spikes in an activity that are deemed unmoral by society the masses will blame the media. From Victoria Secrets V-Strings to MTVs A Shot at Love to movies like Juno. All of these things are blamed (as are several online things) and parents react by complaining a lot about these. Frankly, I watched Juno, watch A Shot at Love, though I do not wear V-Strings, I know about them. Guess what, I am not pregnant. If the culture is the same throughout the country (the media culture is) then why is the spike localized. Maybe the parents should look at local problems first, over the immediate attack target.
It is not the lack of birth control that causes this:
Planned Parenthood has blamed this spike on the fact that the nearest Women's Clinic is 25 miles away. While that is sad (all people should have health near them) it is not responsible for this. The problem is not contraception, as the girls WANTED to get pregnant. Unless you are going to tell me that you can force somebody to take birth control there is no way that it could fix this. It seems more the lack of education that is the problem. How about the schools start to teach them about children, and how hard it is. Also, teach them about contraception, as we know they are going to have sex anyways.
Parents, Look at your title:
Quite often in situations like this parents turn to blame whatever they can. They will blame the media, the culture, abortion, contraception, sex-ed, even the economy. Passing the buck is not just a trend in politics and business, it appears to be a trend in families. Parents can not blame themselves for their child's failings. Talk to you kid about sex, educate them, do everything you can; but, always remember, you need to be open to them about it. PARTENTS, you are not your child's friends, you are their parents, ACT LIKE IT.

Add my blog link : http://stop-snoring-start-sleeping.blogspot.com/.
Did you know that Snoring is a bigger issue in relationships than what many of my friends and experts had originally thought. Snoring is a real problem that at times can separate a couple within their own home and eventually break up a marriage or relationship without really knowing that snoring issues was the original underlying culprit.

Um. Yeah. I agree.
Though you can't say that the Media had nothing to do with this. The influence of the Media is amazing.
But it's just as much the parents fault. And that Freidman woman.
