Post 6:
*NOTE*
I know that I have been running around one topic and was trying to circle it, eventually coming to it, but I have sense realized that there is something more pressing. This is a temporary retrieve from that circle, this is not about the topic I was going for. The similar entries will shortly resume (I.e. Monday).
*ENDING OF THE NOTE*
Many people have been hit by manufactured controversies in politics recently. From Governors having affairs to Hillary running from sniper fire. The idea of controversies being manufactured seems to keep getting passed around. Sure, it is understandable when you are trying to sell something, in this case, the news, but it is not understandable that we always need these things in politics. Recently, Obama has been under fire from several different manufacture controversies. The most recent, and most discussed, being: The Reverend Wright - The Flag Pin - His elitist comments (along with Michelle's). All of these controversies are absurd yet all will be a big issue in November. Really, the main thing is, all of them could have been avoided. Obama's Advisers; What Really Grinds My Gigantic Notched Wheels.
The Reverend Wright
Now, I know that most people (democrats that is) do not think that a spiritual advisor should matter when looking at a person. Look at their positions, look at what they say, look at how they vote; do not look at where a person sits in a pulpit. I agree with you, for the most part, provided one can prove that any radical ideas held by the priest/rabbi/father/what-have-you are not held by the candidate. I do not think that Obama is racist, anti-semitic, anti-American, or anything like that. However, when looked at alongside several other things (including the other two big 'issues') a fair amount of voters will see that in Obama. My issue with this whole Wright thing is that Obama dug himself a grave. He said “I can not disown Wright any more than I can disown blacks”. Then, after nothing new happens (Wright talks publicly, I consider that the same as YOUTUBE), he switches. Obama dug himself a whole, because either he lied before or he doesn't pay attention to the news. I hope it is the previous, because I would rather have a liar than an uneducated person. The thing is, Obama's advisers should have seen this coming (we all knew Wright would go talk) and handled this in the first speech (back in March), not a month later. They really dropped the ball there.
The Flag Pin
Now, I in no way think that a symbol is our country. I do not think that burning the flag is wrong and I do not think that Obama should be required to wear a flag pin. That said, why is he? Earlier this election cycle when asked about why he no longer wore the pin Obama made it a big deal by making a whole 1st Amendment speech. Good, case over, don't wear the thing. Suddenly, here comes Obama with the pin on, about the same time that the GOP starts attacking his patriotism. Seems a little coincidental there, but we can ignore that for this blog (will show up in another, trust me). So, after making a big deal about why he should not have one, Obama suddenly does have one. This is a huge issue; we saw in 2004 that a simple flip flop on a seemingly nothing thing has dire consequences in the election. A flip flop on patriotism (as the GOP would spin it) will harm Obama greatly in the coming campaign, especially in states like Ohio and Penn., where this sort of stuff resonates with the working stiffs (who Obama needs to gain ground with). This seems to be another area where Obama's advisers have dropped the ball.
Obama's elitist comments, and Michelle
Calling a female reporter “sweetie”, calling citizens of a large voting state “bitter and clingy”, saying that “this is the first time I am proud of this country”, and saying that “WV is only voting Clinton because they are racist”. Come on now people, this is a clear problem that the Obama camp is having. Before I get to the meat of this, I must say, SHUT THE HELL UP MICHELLE. Seriously, she is harming Obama's campaign greatly, almost as much as Wright did, by saying the most stupid things at the worst times. Moving on, I think that Obama is an elitist, as I think any person who wishes to run this country is; however, only Obama comes off that way. His comments imply that he looks down on people, doesn't think much of working stiffs, and has an issue with this country. That is not going to help him get elected. Sure, he makes slip ups, and I am fine with things like that (I actually think that the sweetie comment was a slip up), however he (and Michelle) also make gigantic mistakes. They both say things that will only harm them, thinking that all they need to win are the elite college educated. NEWS FLASH, you need the entire spectrum of people to win, and if you keep isolating the lower end, you can not win. This is one area where Obama's advisers are most present, these are his speeches for gosh sake. If anything, this is where they should catch his problems. Alas, low and behold, yet again, Obama's advisers have screwed the campaign. What, is this like the tenth, twentieth time? It simply comes down to one question; What should Obama do? This Democrat thinks that Obama should fire his staff, duct tape his wifes mouth, and higher people who have run campaigns before (or, you know, just go hang with the Clinton Camp).
As always, please leave any comments, no matter how large or how small about the contents of this blog post. Also, please leave any comments/suggestions about this site/post as a whole. Thanks

Well, the more mistakes the merrier.
Obama can go fall in a puddle a drown for all I care.
Actually, I'd prefer it.
ANYWAY.
As you have explained it, you would think no one would be voting for him.
He is obviously not very patriotic. Don't we want someone with patriotism in office?
Also; you say that he has nothing to do with the middle-east, or whatever. But the thing is, even if he doesn't have any admitted connections, he is still sympathetic to them. (Muslims) (His family was/is Muslim.)
Tell me again why we want someone who is sympathetic to the islams in office when we are practically fighting a war against them?
Also; You say that one should not look at someone's spiritual adviser when judging him. How can you say that? Obama just spent the last 20 years infront of Wrights pulpit, listening to sermons on black elitism and superiority. How can one ignore that?
Also, you should do a blog on the pros/cons of the war, and why it is important. I don't think enough people understand even why we are over there.

He is a US senator, show some respect to him, he deserves thast much.
He is Patriotic, very very patriotic, and will probably have a fair amount of people voting for him.
His family is not Muslim, nor have they ever been. Furthermore, I do not think that religion is a big deal for who we put in office. Bush is a Christian, didn't act like one now did he?
Maybe in the future, I probably have different reasons for us staying in Iraq than you do, but we both agree we should stay (actually, a good idea, will not that in my to-do list)
Yeah, okay.
Well, looking at his comments, I don't see how he could be. And yes, I know he will receive a large amount of votes.
I think religion is a very important thing to look at. What incident are you referring to about Bush?
Also.
"Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (black muslim) of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas. (white atheist ).
When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya. His mother married Lolo Soetoro -- a Muslim -- moving to Jakarta with Obama when he was six years old. Within six months he had learned to speak the Indonesian language. Obama spent "two years in a Muslim school, then two more in a Catholic school" in Jakarta. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim while admitting that he was once a Muslim, mitigating that damning information by saying that, for two years, he also attended a Catholic school.
Obama's father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. was a radical Muslim who migrated from Kenya to Jakarta, Indonesia. He met Obama's mother, Ann Dunham-a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas-at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Obama, Sr. and Dunham divorced when Barack, Jr. was two.
Obama's spinmeisters are now attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came from his father and that influence was temporary at best.
In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya immediately following the divorce and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.
Dunham married another Muslim, Lolo Soetoro who educated his stepson as a good Muslim by enrolling him in one of Jakarta's Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the industrialized world.
Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when you are seeking political office in the United States, Obama joined the United Church of Christ to help purge any notion that he is still a Muslim."
(Sorry for long quote.)
So, at the very least, he is sympathetic to them.
That might differ a bit, yeah. Glad I could give you an idea. ;]
where is that quote from, if I can locate a bias in the source i will ask for a new one (i would suggest looking at his biography)
As for Bush, he claims to be a Christian, but supporting the death penalty, starting wars, and the like are not Christian acts, now are they?
Well, apparently this was in an e-mail that was circulating. But even so, I checked most of the information, and it checks out.
Hm, fair enough. How is he starting wars?
Iraq and Afghanistan count as starting wars (granted, they are not wars, there is no act of Congress as needed).
Please provide me this proof for the Obama claims, or, migrate to the ED-P with that post and we will dissect it there.
yo
obama's dad used to be muslim, then dropped religion altogether. he was the atheist, for sure, not sure about his mother.
Anon -
Evidence of this claim please
You can nitpick all you want. He is not perfect by far but Obama will crush in '08 and here's how I know that:

I hate to say it, but I do not think that crowds are a good indicator of voting. Based on polls (as of 845 this morning) they are at a statistical tie. Do not forget that 14% of dems will be voting McCain over Obama, and that the religious right is now motivated due to the California Decision.
How do you propose the religious right will punish the 6 Republican judges that currently sit on the 7 man state supreme court?
Will they vote for Nader?
Even the Governator said he respects the Republican-dominated court's decision. Prior to this ruling, the Governator vetoed 2 attempts by the Cali legislature to legalize same-sex marriages.
Oh, and good luck with that whole "Michigan and Florida votes count, too." thing.
For the record:
DiMaio was refilled two days ago, now he has standing, and it will be a quick shot up to SCOTUS
They will come out in mass to vote Republican because they will be scared of democracts having power because, "OMG, GAY MARRIAGE!!!1!1"
Again. Democrats did not overturn the gay marriage ban in Cali.
Second of all, republicans have tried to use all of these worthless tactics in the three special elections that have been held since 2006 and the republicans have lost all three, including Denny Hastert's seat and the latest one in a heavily red district in Missouri.
The republicans are DOA and they know it.
How have they used it?

He didn't start the war. The terrorists did. ;o
How do you suggest I go and get proof of this? It's not like he has stuff like that on his website, or whatever. :/
I take back this argument, because I don't have the resources to get you what you would consider proof. u.u
----He didn't start the war. The terrorists did. ;o----
War is between two countries, last I checked, Al Queda controlled no country.
-----How do you suggest I go and get proof of this? It's not like he has stuff like that on his website, or whatever. :/-----
Seeing as he went to a christian church, was raised christian, etc. he is Christian.
Hell, he left it today (for political reasons)

Barga... "Obama dug himself a whole-"
*hole? : )
Anywho, the only point I wish to argue is that of the wearing of the American flag. Why exactly don't you see it as a symbol of our country? The fifty stars representing the fifty states, the thirteen stripes for the original thirteen colonies. And the colors... What would you use to symbolize the United States? The flag is used in so many places, too. It's almost everywhere you look. It's a symbol of what our country stands for, a symbol of the past, present, and future. It's a symbol of hope to so many Americans.
While the flag pin does represent America throughout the world, it is not the symbol of our country. I would argue that democracy, pure and simple, is the symbol of our country. If our symbol changes, get altered, or anything like that how can it have any power?
Furthermore, How can you justify our symbol being on people underwear or your sack of potatoes?
